Gatti’s Pizza recruits new franchisees in more than 25 states
Gatti’s Pizza, a beloved pizza franchise for almost half a century, is making news with an aggressive plan for expansion throughout the United States. We are looking to partner with entrepreneurs all over the 10 states with existing franchises and are targeting 17 more states for franchise development.
“We plan to open an additional 10 franchises by year’s end, and add as many as 35 new locations by the close of 2018,” says Jack Sibley, Vice President of Franchise Development “With 42 franchisees in 76 locations across the country, we are growing rapidly as families everywhere are demanding the kind of restaurant experience Gatti’s offers. Gatti’s Pizza franchise wants to sign new franchisees in these states: Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, North Carolina, Utah and Wyoming.

Our reinvigorated Gatti’s Pizza brand offers franchisees two models for franchise development. All of these models feature the tried-and-true menu items and fun family atmosphere that many adults remember from the Mr. Gatti’s restaurants of their youth:
- Mr. Gatti’s Pizza Franchise Model – The Latest in Fast-Casual Family Pizzeria. An upscale, fast-casual dining experience that’s suitable for the whole family, but offers beer and wine; a great fit for communities with larger populations of high-wage households in excess of $75,000; features include a wood-fired pizza oven, upscale menu offerings and a gelato bar.
- Gatti’s Pizza Franchise Model – The Family Buffet with Midway Arcade. Family pizza buffet featuring our signature Midway arcade; ideal for small and medium communities, with a footprint ranging from 3,500 to 7,000 square feet; thrives in communities with incomes ranging $55,000 – $80,000; our most nostalgic and classic model, Gatti’s Pizza boasts a 40-year history of customer loyalty.
“Our goal in launching this new franchising effort is to reconnect the brand to a loyal and passionate customer base that have now become parents and, thus, use that original consumer to introduce the brand to a new generation of guests,” said Michael. “Since the introduction of new Mr. Gatti’s restaurants, we are hearing from guests who have great memories of Mr. Gatti’s when they were kids and are excited about being able to introduce their kids to one of their favorite childhood experiences.”
Almost 50 years of pizza franchise history and tradition
Gatti’s Pizza has a proud history of serving delicious pizza in innovative ways. Since 1969, we’ve strived to deliver unforgettable experiences for families in the neighborhoods where we live and work.
Mr. Gatti’s first opened its doors as The Pizza Place in Stephenville, Texas, in 1964. With a move to Austin in 1969 came a name change, which paid tribute to the wife of founder James Eure and her maiden name: Gatti.
By the ’70s, the chain was experiencing dramatic growth and had become a household name. In the ’80s and ’90s, Mr. Gatti’s expanded the concept to include GattiTown, a 25,000-square-foot family entertainment center devoting 10,000 square feet to a colossal Midway-type game room.
James Eure’s vision is now almost 100 restaurants strong and counting, including Mr. Gatti’s Pizza, Gatti’s Pizza and GattiTown restaurants. During the past 18 months, we have focused on a comprehensive revitalization and growth strategy for the Gatti’s Pizza brands.
“While many brands are chasing the trends of the day or trying to hop on the latest fad, Mr. Gatti’s Pizza is taking a different approach,” Michael says. “We are defining our future by revisiting our past and reconnecting to its latency, at a time and place when the brand had optimal market share and name recognition.”
